Girls Brigade

Welcome to 2^nd Bletchley Girls’ Brigade with Boys in Trust

We are part of an International Christian Organisation for girls and boys from 4 years old.  We meet on a weekly basis on a Thursday, 6.00pm at St Andrews Baptist Church where we hold our Company Evening.

There are 4 main sections in our company, depending on the age:

Girls and Boys age 4 - 8 are called Explorers

Girls age 7 – 11 are called Juniors

Girls aged 10 – 14 are called Seniors

Girls over the age of 14 are called Brigaders   

Each evening we tend to follow this structure:

6.00 – 6.15 Arrive and games

6.15 -  7.15 We split into our age groups and complete our ‘Badgework’ – we work towards a badge that we receive each year, we do all sorts of different fun tasks in our badgework.  Often we will do something that relates to the time of year too – maybe we will make Cards at  Christmas or Chocolates at Easter.  We also have our Devotions in these groups and have an opportunity to join in with our prayers.  

7.15  - 7.30 Squads, Juice and Biscuit before the Explorers and Juniors go home.  The Seniors and Brigaders stay till 8.30pm and complete their badge work and complete other fun tasks in their sessions.

To come each week cost £1 per evening and we prefer that you pay by cheque on a termly basis, but you can pay weekly too.  This £1 covers the insurance that we have to pay for each girl/boy and goes towards the running costs of our evenings, for example for our craft or fun sessions.  (The Leaders that run each evening do so voluntarily – they don’t receive any payment!) 

We are a uniformed organisation and we encourage everyone to wear it.  Uniform can be purchased via our order forms, or we hold a good stock of ‘hand-me-downs’ at reduced cost.

As well as our usual company nights we have fund raising events, we have evenings out and sometimes we meet with the other Girls’ Brigade Companies in Milton Keynes too, and you’ll get notes about these events when they occur. 

We also like to join in Church Services at St Andrews Baptist Church and usually once a month there is a Parade Service on a Sunday morning at 10.30am.
