Chestnuts School

As a near neighbour to Chestnuts Primary School, we welcome regular visits from the school to the Church as part of their religous knowledge curriculum.   Our Minister also visits the school from time to time for assemblies and a group from the church have volunteered to attend the school to listen to children read.

Each year the church also contributes to the service provided by The Bridgebuilder Trust, which consists of a group of secondary school pupils visiting the school one afternoon to present a session for the year six children.   The aim is to let them know what to expect, when the pupils move from primary to secondary education, and to let them know that there is support from older children in the school to which they will be moving.   The churches involvement is to contribute financially for the booklet given to each child to help them with the move.
